We’re North Ninety, two friends who grew up together in the 90s and turned a shared passion for building into something bigger.

The “North” stands for direction and integrity. “Ninety” is a nod to the decade that shaped our grit, creativity, and work ethic.

Based in Boise, Idaho, and with over 15 years of industry experience, we focus on custom homes and large-scale remodels. Whether it’s a new build or a total rework of your current home, we show up with the same mindset: be upfront, build with precision, and never cut corners.

Sawyer McMillen

Sawyer grew up with a hammer in one hand and a deep respect for honest work in the other. Raised in Idaho, he comes from a long line of craftsmen and brings that same hands-on approach to every project. After years of working in the trades, he co-founded North Ninety with a longtime friend to build homes that feel as solid as the relationships behind them.

With a sharp eye for detail and a deep understanding of what makes a house feel like home, Sawyer leads with integrity, practicality, and a bit of good-natured grit. He believes in doing things right the first time and creating spaces that are built to last for families, by family.

When he’s not on-site or fine-tuning floor plans, you’ll find him with his wife and kids, probably barbecuing in the backyard, playing a round of golf, or sneaking in a weekend DIY project just for fun.

Payton has always had a knack for turning something old into something remarkable. With a background in construction, he brings a rare blend of vision and practicality to the North Ninety team. Whether reimagining a fixer-upper or planning a custom build from scratch, Payton sees potential where others might see problems.

Born and raised in Idaho, he’s deeply rooted in the local community and passionate about helping people create homes that reflect who they are and how they live. For Payton, building homes is more than materials; it’s about building trust, lasting value, and spaces that feel right from day one.

Off the clock, you’ll likely catch him hanging out with his wife, sketching out new design ideas, or tinkering with his next remodel “just for fun”.
